Lo and behold, I found my backup CDs, so I have been able to recover all my data. In the 2 months of not having access to any of the files, there wasn’t anything I missed. I think the same can be true of much of our household junk. We clutter our lives with useless things and information that we think is essential, but when it is removed from our lives, it doesn’t seem to matter.

Yes my friend the cost of a second harddrive whose only purpose is to backup data is far less that the price of the data lost. I almost lost a bunch of data this month too, so I can talk a whole lot. Lightning hit my pc, again, so I’m thinking that my backup data hd is going to be in an external case that I connect once a week and then backup. Then disconnect the USB cable, power cable, everything from the external case so that lightning can’t touch it.
DATA is too valuable.

wow, the recovery service is at least $650. This will teach me a lesson!
