    1. Tom Johnson says:

Here is some more information I received from Madcap on their Mimic product:

We are pleased to inform you that Mimic development is right on track. We are currently in a ‘closed’ Alpha testing phase of the release. All the tutorials included in the recent release of Flare v2 were created using Mimic so we encourage you to download the Flare v2 trial to see Mimic in action.

One of the many advantages we experienced when recording movies using Mimic as opposed to Macromedia Captivate is file size. On average we saw a 50% reduction in file size when recording the exact same Captivate movies using Mimic.

Some of the other features that have been very intriguing to the Alpha testers are:

      • Seamless Integration with Flare. This means that it is very easy to start the movie-making process from Flare and to quickly incorporate the finished movie into your Help project.

      • Project-Oriented Workflow. In addition to creating standalone movies, Mimic works with the concept of projects. Each project can contain several
individual movies. This allows you to easily and quickly link smaller movies together to form larger ones.

      • Wide Variety of Recording Options. Mimic lets you choose between multiple options when recording a movie. For example, you can choose to record the full screen, a specific application, or even a particular region on your screen.

      • Visual Timeline. Use Mimic’s visual timeline to synchronize actions and objects in a movie frame. Manipulate actions to occur for an exact period of
time and in a specific sequence.

      • Multiple Output Formats. In addition to producing movies in MadCap Software’s own movie output format, you can also generate output in Adobe
      Flash.

      • MadCap HelpViewer v2 has built-in support for Mimic movies thereby resulting in the first ever integrated Help and tutorial software delivery application. This is just another example of how MadCap is shaping the future of online Help. You can see an example of this cutting edge integration within the embedded Help system of Flare v2.

Please stay tuned for more updates. As we move closer to the release of Mimic, we will be making BETA selections. We will also be sending out
pre-release “sneak peek” versions of the product.

We encourage you to forward this email to anybody who may be interested in participating and receiving a “sneak peek” of MadCap Mimic.

    5. Everyone could use social bookmarks as a part of web marketing strategy because it is a effective way to increase the visibility of your business. But having a automatic bookmarking software is important, because this means you can save an average of 3-4 hours a day, or an average of $200/month in bookmarking expenses while you produce the best results in terms of traffic and Page Rank increase.
