The coolest thing ever — Total Tech Writer Blog Aggregation

    November 7th, 2006 | Posted in blog 4 Comments »

For some time now, I’ve maintained a list of technical writing blogs on stc-suncoast.org. And I’ve had them all aggregated in my own Feeddemon newsreader. By aggregate I mean my newsreader pulls together all the content into one long flow of information, arranged chronologically. Now you can get the same effect without a newsreader — I’ve aggregated them with Blogdigger.

Here is the link of aggregated technical writing blogs: http://groups.blogdigger.com/groups.jsp?id=3412

    1. Hey, Tom,
My blog shows up in your list, but my postings don’t show up in the search results. Is is possible my RSS isn’t working?

The Blogdigger people say they are having DNS issues. I didn’t initially realize how many blogs weren’t showing. I’m hoping it balances out after a day or so. Maybe it takes a while for the feedmesh to update.

    3. Thanks!

And the aggregator is a good idea. I use NetVibes and have a page of tech writing blogs there. I’ll compare my list with yours.

I was unaware of netvibes. It looks like a cool service. I imagine you have tons of portlets from dozens of different feeds you monitor.

I think the blogdigger thing is still very much in beta, because it was showing 2 yr old posts from one person’s site as if they were just posted. Maybe I jumped the gun on promoting that site.
