Actually, there are two presidential candidates, Cindy Currie and Kit Brown. STC elects a second vice president who automatically becomes first vice president the following year and president the year after that.

It’s ornamental because I haven’t realized much value from my membership. I enjoy the odd article (particularly yours about corporate blogging) in the monthly journal and I appreciate the annual salary report, but that’s about it. I consider my membership ornamental because it looks good on my resume.

Unfortunately, the presidential candidate has no challengers. But there is some competition for directors.

By the way, can I ask why you say your STC membership is ornamental at best?

I’ll check this podcast out. I wasn’t planning on voting since my STC membership is ornamental at best, but perhaps one or more of the presidential candidates will propose something that piques my interest.
