Sure I still read their actual, developed writing, but I like little snapshots into what’s going on in their headspace even when they don’t sit down to write a whole entry about it. I’m sure we all have those little thoughts that pop up while waiting in line or in the middle of something else, and it’s handy to pull out the phone (or other method) and tap it out and let it go. Besides, great way to get ideas from others or bounce thoughts around with anyone who’s watching, not just whoever is available in the building. Karen, thanks for the tip. No need to overload yourself with more than you can handle. Twitter is addicting. I think the company markets the product wrong, though. It’s not about updating others about what you’re doing. It’s more like a universal IM chat.

I am not twittering yet. Your post and Nancy’s wiki provide many uses for twitters, which are very interesting and inspiring, but I have not reached my personal tipping point. I have too many other things on my plate right now!

I’ve posted quite a bit about Twitter on my blog, so I won’t repeat, but I think you’ve hit it right on. People really have to give it a try and be open minded. It does take a bit of observation at first. People should probably just follow a few conversations first to take a pulse, before jumping in or they won’t get it.
