LOL! That’s horrible. Wonder what would happen if copied from Google Docs.
What do you think of Word as compared to Google Docs? I hate desktop programs because I have the worst technology karma and stuff always gets lost.
@ Natasha, I actually use Word 2007 to write most of my blog posts, and then I use the Publish to Blog feature that’s built in. It seems to work well, without publishing all the bloated code I showed in the video. I use Google Docs too, but it doesn’t work so well offline while riding the train. Google Docs is great when you need to share the files with others.
We found a great little free utility that strips all this junk and pastes in … Pure Text.

I don’t know Steve but I do know that this utility works and that it is free of malware etc as best as I can tell. Our whole writing group uses it.
It sits in your tray and when you click it after copying …
No more word-crap-tags!
@ Matt, thanks for posting the link to the free utility. I often just paste my content into Notepad to strip the formatting, but I may try the Pure Text tool.
That’s OOXML bloated ‘standard’ goodness for you. M$ pushing it’s own proprietary format that no one else uses, was a farce, with M$ buying companies just to vote for OOXML in ISO. Now IBM is threatening to leave ECMA an ISO. As you can see there’s hardly any benefit for the users (quite the contrary, I dare say), no benefit for the developers (spec is 4000 pages long, impossible to work with) etc
If you can, just say no, and switch to alternatives.
