Tom - there's a lot of people out there wondering what Twitter is all about. Some seem to use it to 'expand' their networks, others just to 'be productive'.

But really, there are few companies that are using it very effectively. The danger with a company embarking down the Twitter path - like any social media platform - is follow through.

As with any good marketing a consistent approach is needed that gets carried out on a continual basis.

There are too many people, companies included, that are rushing to jump on the Twitter bandwagon without having a clue what it's all about. The result often the same as their crusty and dusty blogs is a push to start, a dribble of commitment and motivation and then slowly, they're gone.

Anyone thinking of twit-twittering should have clearly defined goals - what they want to get out of it ... and then work at it on a regular basis. Because if you start it and don't follow through a statistic is all that you'll be.

Sounds like Webworks has done a great job!

You may want to check out http://yonkly.com

It's the first niche-microblogging platform with twitter integration.

Best part. They're a bootstrapped, small team! Go underdogs!
